FAQs

My bookkeeping is in dire shape - can I still use FinOptix?

Yes, but we may need to get your books up to date first before you can start with our bookkeeping subscription service. If we need to catch up your accounting books for previous years, or you have tried to keep up with your books yourself but aren’t sure if you’ve done it right, don’t worry - we can get it done for you. Just get in touch, and we will let you know what’s needed and what we will need to charge for our bookkeepers to get your books in shape.

My business is not a typical startup, is FinOptix right for me?

We are all about entrepreneurship, and building successful businesses, so our interpretation of what we consider to be a startup is quite broad. Our focus is on relatively young businesses (usually less than 10 years old) who don’t have an in-house finance department yet. Those might be startups from a pre-revenue stage all the way to Series B, solopreneurs, freelancers, professional services firms, and many more. If you’re not sure if you’re a fit, let’s talk and we’ll find out.

Do I need to use Quickbooks Online to work with FinOptix?

Yes, our bookkeeping service is based on your active subscription to Quickbooks Online with a plan that allows you to have multiple user accounts. If you already have a subscription, you will need to provide us with a user account to access your financials. If you do not have a Quickbooks subscription yet, or work with a different bookkeeping software, we are happy to assist you with creating a new Quickbooks Online account. FinOptix does currently not work with any other bookkeeping software vendors. The cost of a Quickbooks Online subscription is not included in our fees.

My business is not based in Canada - can I use FinOptix?

Unfortunately not. At this time, we only serve companies who file their taxes in Canada.
